About Delisle Veterinary Service

We love pets.

Delisle Veterinary Service offers a comprehensive range of veterinary care for companion animals, blending “Big City Service” with a “Small Town Friendly” atmosphere. Many new clients are pleasantly surprised by the extensive services and advanced equipment available at our small-town clinic.Founded by Dr. Lorrie Fraser, the clinic specializes in surgery, dentistry, and canine reproduction. Dr. Fraser’s true passion lies in surgery, particularly in treating dogs with ruptured anterior cruciate ligaments. Her goal is for the clinic to become known as the “canine knee clinic,” as she finds great joy in restoring mobility to dogs suffering from lameness.

Our team embodies the spirit of a close-knit family, united by common goals in veterinary care. We take pride in maintaining a peaceful and welcoming environment, which our patients seem to appreciate as well.

Dr. Lorrie Fraser

Veterinarian/Practice Owner

Dr. Fraser grew up in Alberta and studied at the University of Alberta, where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. In 1998, she graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and started a mobile mixed animal practice. Some family commitments sent her back to Alberta where she spent several years working in a mixed animal practice and, then, a small animal practice where she focused on small animal surgery and dentistry. When the opportunity arose to move back to Delisle, she moved back and started the Delisle Veterinary Service. Dr. Fraser knew she wanted to “be a vet” when she was just 4 years old. She enjoys time spent with her husband, Cam, children, and grandchildren and she looks forward to visits with family, camping, fishing, and travelling. She is very thankful for Dr. Joseph Hrdlicka and his mentorship as she grew up, for the opportunities to tag along on farm calls, and for the love and support of her husband, family, friends, and community.

Tami Horyza

Receptionist

You will recognize Tami as one of our team members who answers your calls, books your appointments, and relays questions to Dr. Fraser for you. 11 years ago, Tami made a complete career change when she hung up
her wings to pursue her life’s passion and began a new career in vet med and never looked back. She started at DVS in 2017 and truly found a home and an additional family with our group.

What makes our clinic unique is that everyone who works here truly loves the animals we care for and the people who are their caregivers. When we interact with them, we know not only their pets’ stories but the owners’ stories, too. We share in their joys and, sadly, sometimes sorrows, which is a rarity in most companies today. Her spirit animal is Canis familiaris, and she has never met a dog she didn’t love and wants to drag home. Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen.

Over the years at the clinic, she has developed an understanding of animal care and customer service. Betty-Jean loves interacting with clients, finding joy in the little moments—whether it's hearing about their pets' latest adventures or realizing just how small the world really is.

At home, Betty-Jean is the proud owner of Karson the dog and Alice the cat, creating a lively and loving household. She especially enjoys puppy visits at the clinic, where she can share her enthusiasm and care with new furry friends.

When she's not greeting clients or assisting the team, Betty-Jean is always looking forward to the next chance to connect with both the people and the pets that make Delisle Veterinary Services a special place.
